Scope
The metastable ceramic, metals and polymers materials include solid solutions such as metallic glasses, bulk glass formers, new oxide/ceramic glasses and metastable crystalline polymorphs of intermetallics and other stoichiometric compounds.
In this perspective, the workshop will cover the thermodynamics, preparation, structure and properties of metastable and nanomaterials.
The NANOMAT 2009 will also cover studies of nano-interfaces and grain boundaries as well as studies regarding their evolution and applications of improved nano-scale characterization methods. Finally, properties, including magnetic, electronic, electrochemical, catalytic and optical will be covered both from applied and fundamental perspectives. In this case also health issues are covered.

For the first time...

the NANOMAT 2009 will be held outside Brazil, following the ambition of integrate Latin American communities working in these fields. The meeting will be carried out in order to stimulate discussions on recent advances and emerging trends.

has made a big effort in the last years in the field of Nanomaterials, and intends by the organization of this Workshop to integrate Mexican and Latin American Institutions, looking for common interests and strategies for improving and consolidate the scientific and technological activities in the field of nanomaterials in international networks.
